Waxahachie Daily Light, December 9, 2004 - SkillsNET Corporation based in Waxahachie, Texas is excited to announce new local partnerships. The SkillsNET Corporation Regional Skills Initiative is now in place, available and operational in cooperation with Navarro College, Waxahachie and Corsicana Chambers of Commerce. The Regional Skills Initiative provides Chamber members access to web based technological applications that will assist them with their workforce development activities and enhance their human relations department operations.

The goal of this collaboration is to provide area business and industry access to the nation's most advanced integrated labor market intelligence and employee development system. As an added bonus of the initiative, these services are available to members at no charge. These programs will be used as demonstration sites as SkillsNET rolls out the RSI process on a nationwide basis.

"The Chamber's goal is to advance an innovative workforce system which fosters a competitive economy and improves the quality of life for Waxahachie. We are pleased to form this joint effort with SkillsNET and are eager to initiate this program," said Debra Wakeland, Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.

Job profiling, structured interviews and skills gap analysis now become reusable processes letting you spend more time running your business and tending to customers. The system utilizes a synthesis of state-of-the-art SkillObjectsT software, skills assessment systems, and online education and training.

Local businesses and industries, independent school districts, area workforce development boards, economic development boards, chambers of commerce, and training and education providers will actively participate and support these initiatives. Phillip Browne, Owner of Chick-fil-A in Waxahachie will be one of the first Chamber members to participate in the initiative.
