SkillObjects® Go Green.

WAXAHACHIE, TX June 15, 2008 -

SkillsNET announced today the Texas Labor Market & Career Information (LMCI) unit of the Texas Workforce Commission and the SkillObject® Technology group will voluntarily collaborate to identify key skills for green collar jobs in Texas. Exploring green technologies and green collar worker skill requirements will be of significant importance as the workforce and labor market becomes more aware of green jobs and careers.

Using LMCI experts and industry C-Management as advisors SkillsNET will transform its Global Skills Content Library (GSCL) to include SkillObjects for green jobs. Alignment of emerging green skills to college courses, certifications, and career options will provide individuals seeking green related careers with a pathway to success.   The completed Green GSCL will provide the following;

  1. More transparent and flexible labor market, with clear market signals and greater ability to respond to global industry trends
  2. More portable skills through green related certification systems
  3. Greater efficiency in skills acquisition for green jobs
  4. More variety in training solutions
  5. Institutionalized articulation of competitive workforce needs by industry to training providers

SkillObjects are Occupational Skills that contain tasks, tools, and resources required to perform work at requisite performance levels and contain enabling metadata (knowledge, skills, abilities, motivation, etc.). Redefining green jobs using SkillObjects will give employers an edge on performance and market presence.

Contact SkillsNET today if GREEN is in the company future.
